Swam a quick 800 yards in the pool today and felt really positive about my swim technique... I did 8 x 100 yard repeats with anywhere between 15-45 seconds of rest in between each repeat. I think I've brought my 100 yard time down by about 8 seconds already! Very happy about that...
After my swim, I met up for lunch with good buddy and former b-school classmate Rich. Amidst our catching up, he mentioned playing ice hockey, which of course got me thinking about my playing again sometime too (I played hockey for 7 years in my younger days). Well, maybe I'll consider it after my race, for now I'll put that idea on ice (pun intended)...
This evening I had in store another mix-it-up workout: pilates. Alyce offered me to join the class she goes to, so I said 'why not'. It was a decent workout, main focus was on the "core" (abdominal muscles, etc.). Enjoyed the class and followed it with an easy-paced 3mi run home.
